The City Government of Iriga and the Social Security System signed today, July 3, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for self-employed program of Contract of Services. The agreement will allow JOs and COS workers to enjoy SSS benefits such as disability, sickness, maternity, old age, death and unemployment.
In his message, Mayor Rex C. Oliva said that this is another milestone to address the social security needs of the Contract of Services. “By extending the social security coverage to them, we are investing and putting high value on our human resource thus we are empowering them to face the future with security knowing that they have safety net to rely on,” he said.
According to Maria Janeth Ebuenga, SSS Iriga Branch Head, any time after the signing of MOA, they are now ready to conduct orientation program and on-site registration of all qualified Contract of Services.
This partnership is also extended to regular employees of LGU-Iriga who are existing SSS members by virtue of private employment or self-employment are. They may opt to continue paying contributions as Voluntary members, to which SSS has already agreed to extend assistance for the remittance of their preferred month SS contributions.
Joining Mayor Rex C. Oliva in the MOA signing are the SSS representatives, Maria Janeth H. Ebuenga, SSS Branch Head, Maria Gracia H. Sanao, Executive Officer II and Ma. Felicia C. Dimaiwat.
Kgd. Melnan R. Murallo, Kgd. Michael Samarita and Kgd. Dandreb Abonite, along with the Department Heads and heads of office, were also present during the MOA Signing.
